OK, let's try another question for the day. . .
In a manual that I am writing, I have the terms "in vitro," "in vivo," and "in
situ" italicized as they always should be in section titles, body text, figure
captions, etc. So, I need to make some x-refs to some of these section titles,
for
OK, and I have an idea as to why, but it's just not worth the brain death to
fix the issue. At this point, it's just easier to manually add the bottom
border line and move on. I do appreciate all the replies.

I only do that (renaming) if I don't have any other zip tools installed - only

If you don't have 7-Zip, you can rename the file extension to . zip and then
unzip it using the Windows zip file handler.

Jeff, you don't have to rename it. The zip archive can be opened via the 7-zip
item that appears when you right-click on the file name. I have a couple of
Excel files that have graphics embedded in them. Had no trouble finding them in
the media folder.

What about the old .xlsx (&.docx) trick of making a copy, renaming it as .zip
and extracting the contents? The images will all be in a Media sub-folder.

Tammy,
Not sure that this will help, but every MS file - Word, PowerPoint, Excel - are
also zip files. If you right-click on the file name, you'll see a menu that
includes 7-zip and an option to open the archive file. In the xl folder, you
should see a media folder. If there are any graphics
IIRC, what I used to do with this was to add a very tiny (3pt?) para
below the image in the frame. I've also used a graphics tool to add 3pt
of white/transparent to the bottom of the image.

OK,
This is kinda' a combination question, and I hope that I can articulate the
issue what I am running into. I have many Excel charts/graphics that I must
incorporate into a manual. My SME has provided these graphics in an Excel
spreadsheet, with one graphic per tab/sheet.
I have Excel 2016,
