My documents are not as large and I use unstructured FrameMaker. I've had success using a master page mapping table to use paragraph tags to automate the master page that is used. The Tech Comm Tools FrameMaker Working with Content book has an excellent section explaining how to produce the mapping table on a reference page.

I've grown weary of paging through 800 pages in order to correct pagination when there's an insertion or deletion that causes pages to roll. Thanks in advance!
