I've seen this before. It was caused by an empty Text Line object that
is using the character format you are trying to change or delete. You
have to find the Text Line object and delete it then you can change or
delete the character form.

Yves, for FM 7.1 you can only AutoInsert one element at a given level of
the structure. You can AutoInsert multiple children but each will be a
child of the previous auto inserted child.

Adrianne, I have had good results with CATIA files that have been
saved/exported in the .cgm file format. I import the .cgm files into
FrameMaker.
You can unlock the imported art in FrameMaker and edit it if you need
to. Most of the time it does not need any touchup.

Brian, you may find the attached useful in finding a code that works for
this.
You can insert the ANSI number directly into you document by holding
down the Alt key and type the code. It works with most fonts.
