I've just come back to FM after a long time working in InDesign, and beyond
that it's my first experience in FM17. There are LOTS of variables in this
document, and my wrists would love less mouse-work.
I know the keystrokes to bring up the variables pod. Once that's up, is there a

Now that you're on FM11, you have ExtendScript built in for free, you know ;>)

Check out Rick Quattro's webinar on ExtendScript that he gave this week.

Every now and then I find myself having to change the content of many variables
in a short period of time. I've never been able to find a way to do this
without resorting to the mouse.
Is there a trick I'm missing?
I'm hoping so!
Thanks,

Both are very appropriate indeed! I'm going to post them next to these two:
No great thing is created suddenly, any more than a bunch of grapes or a fig.
If you tell me that you desire a fig, I answer you that there must be time. Let
it first blossom, then bear fruit, then ripe n.

The conditions also might be hiding in a text-inset that is not actually
included as a file in the book.
Also, after you removed all instances, did you update the book? That seems to
be when Frame cleans out a lot of its lists.

we finally got budgeted for an upgrade...big change. I love some

heavy users of FrameMaker (unstructured, conditional text, variables) so I
thought I'd spread the word here.
On this URL, search on Writer. We're in Northford CT.

Hi folks,
Something I've discovered the hard way, and I wanted
to let others know as an FYI.
Problem: On Windows 2000, FM7.1 has intermittent
startup problems with MS Communicator.
Solution: when you can't open from Windows Explorer by
doubleclicking the filename, solution is to exit

If you have software that can open an old Microsoft

suffice.
