Ugh, I had a longtime client that switched from Framemaker to Flare because
they initially thought that they wanted only OLH, but when their clients
complained that they just wanted their gold standard PDF manuals back, sigh. .
. .it was too late. We spent an extra 20% on screwing around getting
Sadly, we have switched to Flare. We still have some legacy documents in
FrameMaker 10, but with the move to Windows 11, we have to convert those, too.
I'm on this list "just in case", but I expect to disappear in a few years.
We had a good time while it lasted...

It doesn t help things when the subscription price of FM goes up by 30% .. and
TCS up 40%! I did hear that Flare jumped 50% though, so apparently it s a
trend? Sounds to me like they are getting a bit desperate, no?

I think you are right, Tammy. FrameMaker is an old-school product and
Adobe doesn't seem to be doing much to promote or improve it. I watched
the webinar for the new release a few months ago and I was distinctly
underwhelmed. That's not going to bring new users to the list.
