My file names are usually with no spaces and no punctuation, from old
Mif2Go days, which could not cope with anything like that.
It was just the folder name, and such a strange and unconnected problem
that resulted.
Well, I won't make that mistake again.

Fred did a great job of explaining why the ampersand (and some other
characters) can create problems.
On a side note, a few years back, I had a client's files that I was creating
an EPUB from and it would error out after a while. Drove me crazy for a
while until I realized that they used periods

Addition.
I tried to make help from an old set of files, and it worked.
The latest version of my files do not.
What could have changed?

I hit a problem.
I had a MiniToc that provided hyperlinks at the beginning of each main
topic in the help file.
It was fine for the past year, and then something stopped working.
