Someone mentioned Affinity here, so I installed it. It looks like it has a
lot of potential, but It was more than I needed right now so I didn't put
much effort into using it.

Flare's arguably the best alternative to FrameMaker. If your .fm files
are formatted consistently, little or no cleanup may be required after
