I cannot speak for Adobe on this, BUT... I *believe* that X number of days/weeks are automatically considered "here you go, have the new one". Hopefully someone official will chime in on that for you. Adobe won't tell people because then either they wait to buy, or the news gets out about release date announcements. Pretty sure all the vendors do something similar, so you should be okay.
