I think David is really right on the money with these comments on the
templates. Let's hope the Adobe is listening on this one. They could get
started now, releasing them periodically. Then by FM 12 they would have a

Things like that. The current state of the FrameMaker docs is the
result of them being updated with new features release after release.
You should rewrite from scratch with a task-oriented focus.

Hi Mike,
Thanks for the encouraging words.
It may not be judicious of me to make big commitments, but the effort going
forward is going to be close to the things you have mentioned.

Are there any improvements to the user guide that don't regard new or
changed features? The DITA documentation doesn't appear to be any more
helpful for new users.

Hi All,
I am thrilled to be writing to the group where I have learned so much.
I have been documenting FrameMaker for over one year now. I hope to get
your valuable feedback on FrameMaker 11 and FrameMaker Publishing Server
(yes, FrameMaker Server's new name) user guide.
Hi, Gyanesh,
We are glad to have you participating here! In fact, since FM
development moved to India, it has been nice to see that several members
of the team have become active in the community and responsive to it.
Thanks!
One shortcoming that I have always found in Adobe documentation
Hi Mike,
Thank you for mentioning these points. I did not have the opportunity to
partake in the testing of FM11, but I am very happy to see that Hunspell is
now an option, something I requested several years back. I will use the
first opportunity I have to download FM11 and test the Hunspell

I agree with Mike on this. And with the way they spend months dribbling out
updates to the help files after release, they should offer a way to get
those updates as addenda as well, once you've purchased the POD docs. By the
way, I like the fact that they update these help docs. Better that than
