I mean the boxes that allow you to view and change fonts globally in
the document. I thought that only shows the fonts actually being used
in the

Remember - fonts can lurk in graphics too - check the FM console for the font
name that's coming up missing and then save the file as MIF and check it over
to find the offending font name.

I double-checked all our table styles and master and reference pages. The
font list in the Fonts pod/palette did not change for any of them, and any
text or cell I clicked showed the correct font(s) in the paragraph
designer. Even mapping tables.
I could just turn off the warnings, but my goal is
the background of the
book was white!

I double-checked all our table styles
time searching the MIF file and figuring out the
syntax well enough to delete the font references without breaking anything.

The missing fonts could be located in several places, like empty text lines
created from the Graphics Palette.
If you are certain you have only the fonts you wish in your para and char
styles, you could Edit-Preferences and change the settings to not remember
missing fonts. Then

I've also noticed that appearance of the warnings is unpredictable.
Sometimes these files will open with warnings, sometimes without--even
after not making any changes to the files themselves (closed without
saving).

Hmmm ... are the FM files or the fonts remote? I.e.,
All docs and fonts are on local drive.
