This is what I would be inclined to do, what Martin suggested. It strikes me as pointless having more master pages than the final document page count, when instead you can simply type the date the page was edited. From your post I think you want any edits on the page to be reflected in th

Thanks all for these responses. The solution for my specific issue is to have multiple master pages. Because of the type of document I'm writing the date has to be in the footer (so master page) and any page with a change bar has to have a revision date (so, new master page). Deirdre On 7/1/0
