Els, I understand you're looking to own a s8 gate for the JK, but would it
be helpful to borrow one for a while or is that not of interest? I ask
because I might be able to help facilitate a lending (from the US). And I'm
sorry I don't know what the lens extension situation is or what it's used

their own negs these days or if y'all are sending things out to get cut,
or, as Jeff points out, if folks are doing film-outs instead.

Yes, for sure, AB rolling with cement is the traditional way. I don't work
with cement. In AB rolling and in single-strand, my tape splices don't show
up. Hence the note about being good at it and loving it. <3

but am curious about it, and am also thinking about whether I would love
doing it full time.

When I film off of a monitor, I do single frames, like you would on an
optical printer. So I move the video one frame, and use a shutter release
to take one frame (on I) on the Bolex, then advance the video, etc etc etc.
This method requires some obvious things and some not so obvious things:

Hi Friends,
Does anyone have a 35mm gate for a JK you're looking to sell or lend for a
couple months?
I'm not in a rush, and not yet ready if it's the lending magic, but putting
feelers out there so that I can be ready by the time things fall into place.

There's a magical human named Adrian Cousins who is processing Koda as

Maybe you bought one and no longer need it, or maybe you or your friend
make them. I wanna know about it cuz I need to buy one!
I'm shopping for a looper and would like to have variety of options as I

Does anyone in the USA have a 107L remote I could borrow for a week? Will
pay shipping both ways, of course. Am trying to rule out the sequencer as
the cause of the problem, hence attempting to bypass the sequencer.

Hey Jimmy,
Reminding that much film is always a bitch and can cause problems. You
could, instead, shoot the whole roll and then rewind it on rewinds in the
dark, reload and shoot the whole roll!
