got the EDL sorted out in the end with an old version of xpress pro (& it's old
EDL manager) fyi
wondering what the difference might be (within said EDL manager) between pal
video, pal film 1 and pal film 2 ... any ideas?

no overlap. It had a little grinding wheel to make the beveled cut. I
don't think I have actually seen one since the early 1970s...
