Canyon Cinema and always admired her courage, strength and commitment to avant-
cinema and women filmmakers around the world.
Her dynamic energy is certainly a loss to the community.

Barbara was my first film teacher & a major influence in my life & work.
I’ve been spending so much time with her work in these few days since her
passing. She was a gift to art, to all artists. the loss is magnanimous.
