As the one film was shot on 16mm in Indonesia, we'll be serving a special
Indonesian drink Secang, made from Lemongrass, Ginger, Cinnamon, and Agave. If
you are in the greater Brooklyn area, I hope that you can join us this evening
at 361 Manhattan Avenue.
Best,
Steve CossmanFounder / Director MONO NO AWARE

"Inspired by the stories of their restaurant co-workers, the films in this
program focus on struggling families whose financial strain takes seed in
Gainesville, Florida. Where other filmmakers use the camera like a human eye,
the Smyth Brothers relinquish their own optical functions to the turret, lens
and shutter of the Bolex. Exhibiting skills as anthropologists, explorers and
craftsmen, the BlackSmyth films create a beautifully freeing reality within a
thoughtful frame." -- Steve Cossman, Director MONO NO AWARE. CTC FALL SEPTEMBER
