I've been involved in organising Japanese experimental filmmaker/artist Takahiko Iimura's visit to Amsterdam. Considered a key figure in Japanese experimental film, Takahiko Iimura is a pioneer in expanded cinema, video art and film/video installations in Japan. “To review all of Iimura’s work is an important occasion for all who are concerned with the development and pleasures of cinema as an art” (Jonas Mekas) Please see the programs below. As well as presenting his collaboration with Ankoku Butoh dancers with an extract of his film *Anma (The Masseur) *(1963), a performance of *Screen Play* (1963/2014) and a "performative conversation" that incorporates the Japanese concept of MA (intervals) will take place.
