There have been numerous updates to chromium and deps since this PR. The
problem was reproducible at the time but that was probably v94.

BTW, removing the vmem limit also "fixed" an issue on one of my machines with
firefox crashing when entering a text box on a CGI form. Not nearly as extreme
as chromium: the biggest process is 11G vir

I ruled out interference from installed packages by ensuring that the exact
same package set was installed on a working system and a non-working system.
Did the same with kernel modules and sysctls.

The terminal output doesn't seem to mean anything. I found that chrome works
fine on an old Toshina Satellite with a nearly identical setup and it displays
basically the same terminal output there.
