Hi Becuase of the memory access model with debuging on I found that a interrupt stack overflow in the kernel seems to occur from the interaction with interrupts and the memory on the nVida card. I have not nailed it down yet to which interrupts, but without debugging it reduces it an thus the freez

Hi all, It's very stupid but anyway... Are anybody know from where I can download most recent GENERIC kernel(i386) for -current? I didn't know about ufs2 changes and now as a result I can't mount ufs2 fi- lesystems. Thanks. ps CC to me I'm not at list. __

5.0-RC2 install story

Hi all, I've just tested an install of 5.0-RC2 using the boot floppies FTP install method (from ftp3.uk.freebsd.org). The machine is a 1.8GHz P4 with an Intel 850MV2 motherboard. Overall the installation was successful, however: First time I booted the install disks, the machine hung on a sysins

devfs permissions after reboot

Hi, I know how to change file permissions on devfs. But which file do I have to edit that these changes are no lost after a reboot? E.g. I altered my scanner dev: devfs rule add path uscanner0 mode 666 Another thing: I often need a symlink /dev/cdrom to /dev/cd0. What's the best way to do this..

hiya folks I've just tried booting the freebsd 5-rc2 ISO on my sony vaio srx51p from the firewire cdrw/dvd. I wasn't really expecting to be able to install from the firewire drive but I thought it might get far enough to net install, however the rc2 iso has done the same on boot as the other 5 re

I had a similar issue when installing RC2. What does " Loading module if_awi.ko failed. Baystack 660 and others" refers to? I haven't had much luck with this and every install attempt fails with this message. Plus, I haven't see any such problem with 4.6 or 4.7. Anybody has any idea? <> JF -
