bind: eating a lot CPU time

On a CURRENT server acting as the gateway/router (FreeBSD 10.0-CURRENT #1 r243869M: Wed Dec 5 00:09:59 CET 2012), a running named/bind service for local DNS resolution is eating up a lot of time. Is this usual? I can not see caching, checking for requests or similar what could cause a permanent l
