anybody help? undefined reference to 'xstrtod' occuring when building sort.o

I'm trying to upgrade from a 5.0 DP1 system to the latest -current
(as of last week sometime).

In the process of doing a 'make buildworld' I get the following error
message:

I made sure /usr/obj was empty prior to the buildworld.
