Agree also, my DG/UX (a SysV) sees a series of about twenty open-bracket,
close-bracket "[]" on the console as a signal to jump into ROM.
 
I've only had to use it once; the box was so far in the weeds that I couldn't
get a login.

Are you guys serious about dropping the box by powering off the console ?
