libXThrStub.so.6 and FAQ/handbook

I did a fresh install of 4.0-2308-current. I have a Compaq Presario 5170 128 megs of ram and 10gig HD. Installation went smoothly, except for these 2 problems. 1). The libXThrStub.so.6 file (elf) is missing. It is there for aout 2). I don't have the FAQ or handbook files! I have gone back into

vty3 and 4.0 snap 080799

I just downloaded the latest snap (080799) and tried installing it. When getting to the media section and configuring ppp for a ftp install, I try going to vty3 (alt-f3). However, that vty is not available. I have tried this 3 times now. Is this broken? I did a search for this but have found noth

I started a fresh installation with todays floppies. During the installation, I monitored vty1. What I found out is that ifconfig doesn't recognize/config either my modem or cuaa0(ppp0). After clicking "YES" at the "Do you want to try DHCP configuration of the interface" screen, I switched to ALT-

Brian (and others). You are correct about the installation. I had a 3.0-R slice, and somehow corrupted it. I decided I would go to 4.0 and follow current. That is when the problem started. However: very early this morning, I got 3.2 (19990812) floppies and did a ftp installation with those. The "p
