Yes and no.

The phrase 'revision number' might be not technically accurate, but the numbers _are_ sequential.

The command uses the '--count' option of
git-rev-list(1) <https://www.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi?query=git-rev-list&sektion=1&manpath=FreeBSD+12.2-RELEASE+and+Ports>
