I can verify this is the same for me.
And furthermore, after using Firefox for an extended period of time it
will start hogging CPU.

This might be an i386 specific problem, since I can't get Firefox to
crash on AMD64.
Instead the CPU usage rises over time, until the browser becomes so slow
it is almost impossible to do anything with it without restarting it first.

Firefox crashes at any attempt to play video.
Firefox 46 had this problem, and I was able to set FFMPEG=off to work around it.
Only other non-standard setting is PULSEAUDIO=off.
Firefox 47 crashes regardless if FFMPEG is used or not.
