I have recently set up FreeBSD on a Dell Inspiron 4600 and the wireless
keyboard/mouse package that came with it has had 2 issues so far:
--The keyboard tends to repeat letters when I type rapidly, but they don't
repeat next to each other insead, one character apart. example: I type
"www.free

Doesn't "fd" normally need to have a value, such as that of a valid
descriptor before you ioctl() it? Like:
fd = open("/dev/ppi0", O_RDWR);

I second that, I got one last week and its working great.
The only thing odd about it is temperature monitors all report it being
at 255C. Other than that its working well.

I was using sysinstall the other day and hit Auto defaults just to see
what it suggested, and got this on a 20GB disk:

concatenate the existing YP DB's in it's output).

How big is MAXPACKET? This is all local scope stuff. You may not have
enough stack defined.
