Could you run some iperf tests with varying packet sizes, right down
to the minimum packet size? I'd be interested in packet-per-second
throughput information.

I've performed inital set of experiments with FreeBSD 7.0-CURRENT
(built on Oct 8th) with Myrinet 10GE cards. Kernel is based on
GENERIC with the following options disabled:
