other words, I thought that it was ULE that took into account cpu/cache
affinities while 4BSD was deliberately entirely ignorant of those details.

personally felt a need for improvements in the scheduler. And I run KDE4 with
all bells and whistles enabled.
YMMV.
P.S. I don't discourage anyone from improving our scheduler, I even
