This happens to me too in 9.2 stable and 10.0 BETA4
the strange thing is that if I build the pkg (ports-mgmt/pkg) with
option WITH_DEBUG=yes, in the makefile,
it works and does not dumps core any more...
9.2 uses gcc

I just wiped out three doing a portmaster under BETA4 to bind99-9.9.4_2.

There is a bug in pkg that makes it segfault on meta ports (package
without any files), the first one to trigger this in AJs ports is
docbook. See below or github for a patch.
