HOWEVER the software works properly ONCE it manages to get installed by
the normal `make clean install` method (where i have to try about
installing the binary
package using pkg install.
Can you confirm the exact version you installed via pkg install,
including PORTREVISION?

package using pkg install.

Oh yeah, I probably should have mentioned I'm on 9.2-RELEASE/amd64 with
all ZFS file systems (except tmpfs /tmp). I'll give that a shot and
report back, usually woulda been my first stab at it but i too had a
feeling that just didnt seem to be applicable in this case. I'll have to
try it out

that I think would be useful to have as config options. Particularly
the following:
1) Detect and report semantic errors in the data

I'm having issues building djbdns; I'm not able to download any of the
tarballs from the sources listed in Makefile. Is this issue known, or is it
just something affecting me?
