It appears that my experience on microcontrollers is throwing me off. I'm used to having a touch more control at the hardware level. It sounds like I would be best served by setting up a loop that sleeps for a certain number of milliseconds, and then looks for new data in the serial port buffers.

my floppy disks are 1.45, but formatted only hold 1.38 meg, so I can't create install floppies! I can't install from cd because my pc ( a pentium II ) doesn't seem to want to boot from cd no matter how often I change the boot order. Help! thanks! Bill ___

well it isn't really a bittorrent problem but rather a python one. I am getting it too on 5.1 with a fresh ports tree. As a temp fix you can define WITHOUT_GUI and do a make install on bittorrent. That seems to work but you won't get the stylish GUI. -OR- Try editing the Makefile in /usr/por
