What would be the point? Put another way: what are you trying to ach

Start with 4.8, I started with 4.7 on January this year and have been using
4.8 since then, mainly because I couldn't install 5.0 on my old PC's. But
4.8 is the best choice when it´s your first time with FreeBSD.

The funny thing is that the trouble shows up when I try to install
mysql3.23.57 server, I installed postfix2.13, apache2.0.47 and all the
required stuff, and it didn´t complain till I got to mysql.

I found the problem...
I Didn´t update the lang ports, and that was what the mod_php4 port was
complaining about...
I now updated ports/lang and all seems to go along now...

I followed all the indications in the handbook to share an ADSL modem with several PCs
through a FreeBSD box, but can´t access www with the other PCs. I can ping
www.yahoo.com from any PC, but that´s all I can do. What could be the problem?

Ok, why don´t you first try using static IP addresses for your workstations,
and see if you can ping from them?
