Hi,
I installed FreeBSD 7.0-current snapshot [200710] on my laptop. I have
two issues,
of which second is major:
1. It could not find any X filesets
2. After rebooting, it tells me something like "No /boot/loader", and
does not boot.
I tried to google for #2, but found no solution. I am surely ma
Hi,
I recently upgraded to xorg 7.2 by doing a complete portupgrade. I run
FreeBSD 6.2-RELEASE, with the default kernel, and default settings.
Initially I had about 230 packages installed, and after the upgrade
the number has gone up to 450! Lot of these seem to be X related
packages.

Hi,
I use postfix as an smtp client to deliver email to our enterprise
smtp server. Since the smtp server needs authentication, I used cyrus
sasl with postfix and things worked fine. After a portupgrade, postfix
has stopped working, and gives some wierd authentication error.

Hi,
I subscribe to many fbsd lists through gmail, and am not able to
visually detect which email was sent to which fbsd list. Is it
possible to add a tag in the subject line, something like, [fbsd-q],
or [fbsd-questions], or similar so that emails can be visually
classified?

Hi,
I recently came across a problem where I had to re-install Windows XP
on my laptop, which already had FreeBSD on the second slice. I am sure
many must have faced this issue, and hence I am posting this solution
that I adopted to re-install Windows (okay, here I already have two

Hi,
I have FreeBSD 6.2 installed on a Dell Latitude D400 laptop. The
harddisk is 40G, with FreeBSD occupying about 25G, and remaining to

bigger capacity one - 80G. I have to move the existing FreeBSD system

Hi,
My FreeBSD box picks up its IP through DHCP. Now I configured a

I thought it would be a good idea to use sudo on my FreeBSD laptop, but I'm

Hi,
This might be a slightly offtopic question - I have a bunch of Sierra
Wireless AirCard 555 driver/firmware files, and I am unable to figure
out which is the correct .inf file, or which are the remaining
firmware files. I could only recognize the driver, which had a .sys
extension. These files

I am trying to convert a ZTE pcmcia card .sys and .inf file to be used

AFAIK, agp, drm support is built-in for FreeBSD 6.1 - so I am not sure
