I have 2 machines in a test environment, the carp0 interface on the
machines will not become master. The config is as follows:
test1# ifconfig
em0: flags=8943UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,PROMISC,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST mtu 1500
options=bRXCSUM,TXCSUM,VLAN_MTU
inet 192.168.1.252 netmask
I've got 2 identical boxes (Supermicro sys-6023P-8R) running with ZCR
adaptec cards with 6 73Gig seagate scsi drives, 4 Gigs of ram, and dual
2.4 Ghz Xeons. Both of these machines are running 5.3-Release-p8. The
usually run for a day, give or take, and then they crash. The just
deadlock, no
The machine I'm having problems with seems to boot normally and will
operate normally for a couple of minutes, a couple of hours, but it seems
to vary. When the machine fails, the console displays this:
Dec 11 11:38:50 out3 /kernel: (noperiph:sym0:0:-1:-1): SCSI BUS mode
change from LVD to HVD.
I am using FreeBSD as a router for my network and I want to load balance
multiple web servers. I have read a little about Pen. Does anybody have
experience with Pen or any other load balancing tools to do this?
Thanks,
Chris
