dhclient is filling up my /var/log/messages.
Every 10th minute it makes a new request and logging it.
I've tried to request a longer

Try to connect with an ordinary user-account.
If you need root access, use an account in the wheel-group,
and then su to root after you're connected.
I belive that direct root-login are disabled.
