I also have the same problem with an AMD K6-III
running at 350Mhz (Compaq Presario Motherboard). I
dual boot to Windows 2000 Professional and the floppy
works but not on FreeBSD, I just gave up. Could be
some timing problem with the CPU?

the Sun JDK 1.4.0 version for Linux and it also works
fine, I tried the 1.4.1 version and it core dumped.
I've been using the 1.4.0 setup with Jakarta Tomcat
5.1 and OpenEJB 0.94 without problems (development
enviroment).

FreeBSD 5.1

I also wanted to try it, I guess I have to wait till
they make it work on 5.1, in the mean time I tried
installing some of the versions from the ports
collection but failed
