FWIW, I just tried building a port (CUPS), and that worked just fine, so FTP
transfers do not seem to be a problem.

hits the "Cleaning up" phase, then fails to terminate and does the whole
thing over and over and over.

now to replace my ancient desktop, and I'm hoping to put FreeBSD on it.

problems with it. (Intel PD440 FX motherboard,266 MHz Pentium II, 64 MB,
4.3Gig Western Digital drive, PCI S3 Virge video card, Realtek 8.39 NIC,
52x generic ATAPI/IDE CDROM).
