just a lot of /etc changes I will have to get used to):

hi,

Other thing (perhaps, the one that I interest more your opinion), do anyone

hi,
for those who know gentoo, theres a program (quickpkg) that makes a binary
package (from already installed ones) without the need to recompile the port,

make qemu work that way, then I realize that using nat on the bsd host all
worked fine for my guest system (gentoo), I hope this helps

I need to make linux (gentoo) run (emulated) under fbsd 5.3, I'm using QEMU
from ports. I get host and guest pinged ok, but I can't make guest get inet.
There's one thing that doesn't seem to match the info I googled (qemu-docs
says this too), when QEMU starts it doesn't says Connected to host

LeBlanc,
if everything /works as planned/ when you start it as root, I guess you could

you need to repartition your disk (to fat or fat32 iff win98se),
I suppose A:\FDISK.EXE (that should be available from a win98se rescue disk,
the one you have booted up) can do the work. After repartition with the
dos/win file system (fat or fat32) you need to format the drive with A:
