checked the Makefile in /usr/port/ftp/curl but could not figure out any
way to disable either GNU TLS or OpenSSL support. So in the current
situation, I cannot install curl and therefore cannot install xine.
Can somebody please help me get out of this situation ?

Hi,
I just migrated from Linux and I am now using FreeBSD 6.3. My keyboard
layout is US-ISO and my TERM is con25. I am using bash#3 as my login shell.
(I installed the bash package from the distribution media, not from
/usr/ports).
The problem is that bash does not remember my commands

svscan', I get nothing. A few qmail processes are however running. How do I get
svscan to start ?
My rc.conf, inetd.conf, hosts and /usr/local/etc/rc.d/svscan.sh files are

i am trying to install videolan's vlc 0.8.2 port on my
freebsd-5.4 system. halfway through the build, it
exits with the error that the shared library tar.0 was
not found.
