Hm, well, if you hate perl perhaps you should consider using a spam
filtering package written in some other language!
The problem with FreeBSD and perl is well documented . . . basically the
FreebSD system has perl 5.005_03
the Port :-)

HotSync button, pilot-link refused to see the device. I'm relatively
inexperienced w.r.t. FreeBSD but a colleague with years of use of FreeBSD
couldn't get it to work either. In the end I decided to increase the vintage
of my OS to v4.8 ;o)

I was wondering if there's any non-executable stack patch for
FreeBSD's kernel.
I searched in google but all I got was some questions in
freebsd-security back from 2001 and an answer saying someone
heard about a project like this, but no information at all.

I seems to always stumble over deciding what it do.
Idealy the program would do somethin like running the backgound generating

There are several different type of monitors and display boards.
The MDA is a text only (and later was a Herculules black/white greaphivs
card). This monitor has a 9pin connector on the viideo cable. Pluging a MDA
into a CGA can literally smoke the monitor..

I did solve this. I installed with the no-standalone option. Therefor, I
was forced to start it from the inetd.conf file and not from a script under
the rc.d directory.

I have been asked to move a Python application that uses gdbm
(databases/py-gdbm) databases from Linux to FreeBSD. The actual database
files do not appear to be transportable; it appears to do with block
size from stat(2), and the fact that FreeBSD uses a 64 bit offset where
Linux uses 32 bits.
and typing a command that should work, like
/bin/ls /bin or even something more basic like set (which is
builtin to all the shells). If you get something, you're connected.
