Hey guys!
I would like to play Minecraft on my FreeBSD box, so I installed
games/minecraft-client. It starts, but I do not have any sound. The
reason for that is that Minecraft uses ALSA and ALSA does not find any
soundcards:

I tried new skype-2.1.0.47 on FreBSD-72. (I have
linux-alsa-lib-1.0.10.3_2 installed.)
Skype starts but gives the errors below when I try to make a voice call.
Previous versions of Skype came in OSS flavor but now it seems to be
dropped and it's only available for ALSA.

The L in ALSA stands for Linux ... so I highly doubt it. It might be
possible to code such a thing for the Linux ABI emulation, but I don't
believe it has been done.

No. FreeBSD comes with its own sound drivers (see pcm(4)).
Most sound chips are supported right out of the box.
Good luck.

My questions are: Which mailing lists or other resources are you aware
of to cover using the Linux ALSA RME96 driver as a starting point to
developing a *BSD licensed driver for FreeBSD?

FreeBSD infront of Linux (almost hate Linux).. But here is my
question:
Do FreBSD have Alsa with alsaconfig or do devolopers at fbsd have plans to
do somekind of alsa-project??
