All, It's working with FBSD amd64 now. I had to enable the "Virtualization Technology" on the PowerEdge BIOS. Although I understand that this option could enhance some virtualization features, it's not clear that I HAVE to enable it to run 64bits OSs. Thank you all, -

you should stay with i386 (if I remember correctly there are no working amd64 nVidia drivers). This won't allow you to use the full 8GB of RAM you have installed, though, without building a custom kernel with PAE support (and there are known compatibility problems between PAE and certain kernel d

I have ran FreeBSD 6.3 and 7.0 in ESXi and haven't bumped into any problems so far. When they say "supported" they are referring to service level agreements and technical support should something go wrong, so if you plan to use this in a production environment you need to do some prior testing on
