understand how they work. There is no fsck tool and no need for one on zfs.
If you have managed to loose data while running zfs you'd better have a

Hi FreeBSD -
On my PC-BSD 9.1 RC3 I need to run fsck on my internal storage drive.
I would like to use I think:
fsck -y -F -t ufs /dev
The question is what should I place for 'ufs' since I have zfs. My
guesses just generate similar to 'directories unknown' My disk is also

This seems to be highly variable, possibly depending on how often you
update. For me, svn is at least as fast as cvs, and it feels faster.
Might just be a lot of fast screen output. portsnap is easily the
slowest on my systems. But I update very often.

I'm a little confused by Trond's reply,

of the existing hierarchy.
Simply delete
If only subversion had some scripts similar to the *-supfile s with cvsup,
including some "first time scripts."

When you use svn the first time, svn doesn't know where the repository is,
and svn repository is not fully in sync with cvs or csup repository.

I have a problem with various parts of web pages stopping
before getting completely downloaded. Links has a useful retries
setting (setup->network options->retries) which seems to fix
this. I need a similar fix for firefox 3.6.2

fall-out is quite unfortunate, and I was hoping for a way to detect that
my allegedly connected socket is lying to me, and it's not really connected
to anything. How would I go about doing that? I tried using the
LOCAL_CONNWAIT option as documented in unix(4), but that does not appear

That's impossible. Are you sure your ports collection is
properly updated and complete? The "screenshot" I've inserted

I have the same port version here, and I can get to the
configuration menu. First of all, make sure you have done
# make rmconfig
And then you should see no er

It does not come that way. The Handbook recommends that one

That is what I thought it would do, based on the docs. However,
when I recently ran freebsd-updat

And it does, in my experience. If the hash of the kernel doesn't
match that of the distribution (or recent update), freebsd-update
leaves it alone.

Actually, freebsd-update is claimed to respect custom kernels. See

That seems to be the default behaviour, as freebsd-update is

Nothing went wrong. :-)
Just an idea, not
ating /boot/GENERIC, and putting the GENERIC
kernel in it, would cause freebsd-update to update that directory
rather than one's custom kernel. I now must rebuild the kernel to
keep the machine working.
What went wrong, and how do stop it from recurring?
