Why oh why are there projects that provide the same functionality and files in the same locations? These two ports, avahi-libdns and mDNSresponder, have given me nothing but PROBLEMS when using portmaster to upgrade (or any other tool to install something else, such as KDE4). Those two ports

Hi all I have installed the net/mDNSResponder port on a FreeBSD 7.2 i386 computer. Set to launch the mdnsd on start up (in /etc/rc.conf). Changed "hosts" line in /etc/nsswitch.conf to "hosts: files mdns dns". Rebooted. "mDNSIdentify name.local" immediately sho

Hello Guys, I am trying to install KDE 4.1 on a FreeBSD 8-CURRENT system that I have inside VMware. I am having the installation failing because of conflict btn avahi-libdns and mDNSResponder - why does KDE 4.1 require both? I have pkg_deleted either of them but KDE4 still pulls both of them up

Hello list, I have a problem when I try to update my "FreeBSD-6.2-STABLE i386 xorg-7.2 kde-3.5.6" with: pkgdb -F portupgrade -aPP It seems that fr-kde-i18n-3.5.6_1 require net/mDNSResponder. But net/mDNSResponder conflicts with avahi+libdns which is required by firefox-2.0.0.4_1. Th
