sound card and freebsd v7.0

greetings, freebsd-questions, i recently got a handme-down box, some sort of hp desktop machine ? not sure what it is called, the source was more or less vague about its name/configuration ??? i put in a freebsd v7 cd and these bit fell out, after pluging some speakers there was no sound, i suppo
