i just tried logging in for single user, it won't boot
single user, i tried the -s flag when it first starts
loading, hit any key to get the boot: prompt and i
type -s and it just goes ahead
Sounds reasonable... But sysinstall --> UserAdd doesn't
use the adduser Perl script, but the pw command.

script is in /usr/sbin/adduser.

Hello -stable:
I notice that when I add a user to FreeBSD, either from adduser
or from /stand/sysinstall --> UserAdd(sp?), the default filemode
of the user's home directory is 755. So far, I can't find
(something like) a config-option for this (i.e., in
/etc/adduser.conf). Is this a bug or a fe
Just had one of our systems that is using vinum to create a lsrge file
system crash ... bringing the system back up, the vinum drive is so badly
corrupted that doing an 'fsck' on the device keeps going until such a
point that the lost+found directory has no space left ...

That's what I did. I reverted my copy of /dev/MAKEDEV, re-ran mergemaster
(making sure not to delete temproot) and the problem re-occured.

After checking the archives (I'd never noticed the "this week" link
before) I saw only three messages relating to this problem.
