When I replaced a STABLE build from 8/21 with one from 8/29, mesg
stopped working on xterms.
I treat each xterm as a login shell, and include mesg n in .login.
The problem seems to be that ownership of /dev/ttyp? is not being
transferred to the user anymore. I remember that options UCONSOLE

I just finished upgrading to STABLE as of 0800 GMT today. Ps -ax is

True, but since the new ATA driver was installed in STABLE about February 25,
WCE has also become mandatory for my NEC Versa 6050 MX laptop. If I don't set
hw.ata.wc=1, kernel buffers become corrupted.
While trying to build the latest STABLE, this afternoon, using
FreeBSD 4.3-BETA (FLOATER) #2: Tue Mar 6 22:17:30 PST 2001
as the build platform, I got the following result:
