Is there a good list of improvements? In particular details of the
NFS improvements? I tried looking through the CVS logs, but it was
not immediately clear to me. And doing that for the entire source
tree doesn't seem very efficient.

I recently upgraded to -stable (from 3.2) to use some of the fixes to
a variety of things like aio_* and some thread stuff. However, I
appear to have botched something else entirely: my HP SCSI tape drive
does not work.
