Beside whois [-a | -r | -p | ...] , you could "traceroute
", find a host nearby the destination, and see if you can
resolve that hostname. Once you have the domain name of the nearby host,
find the nameserver (NS-record) for the domain and check if you can find
out more if you directly query that
