I've changed one of my machines from
4.1-20001022-STABLE
to
4.2-2000-BETA
Now 'crontab -e' doesn't work anymore since my system editor is 'vim-6.0k'.

It worked fine for me with vim 5.7 (and also was tested with emacs,
xemacs, nvi, pico and joe). Do you have any unusual hooks or options
set?

No, just a 'make install' from the current 'ports/editors/vim6'.
(I'm presuming that it is failing with the error that the file must be
edited in palce).
