This would remove this confusing button which apparently does nothing in the classic ruleset. (It could use a tooltip, too.) It might be rather easier to grey it based on whether there are currently technologies for which player_invention_reachable() is returning FALSE. The difference is in a ruleset with self-root-req'd techs, when the player gets all available by some means, with the easier implementation, "Show all" gets greyed out (and activated again if the player loses those techs).
